Export audio as a local PCM WAV

AudioCut exports a fresh 16-bit little-endian PCM WAV. No MP3/AAC/Opus encoder or remote processing service is included.

Decode and process locally

Actual browser decoder support determines allowed inputs. Source files stay unchanged. Up to eight originals and twenty clip selections can be held within a five-minute total decoded session, mono/stereo and 48 kHz working rate. Files are limited to 50 MB each. Rendered output is also capped at five minutes.

Size and memory

WAV bytes are exactly 44 + output frames × channels × 2. The preflight memory estimate includes retained source PCM, a worker copy of used source PCM, floating-point output and encoded WAV. The render estimate is capped at 512 MB; this is a guardrail, not a device-capacity guarantee. Browser decoders and playback can allocate additional memory. Use shorter clips/mono on constrained devices.

Privacy, cleanup and offline

No audio uploads, analytics, storage, accounts or third-party assets are configured. The app fonts and worker load from the host. Editing/rendering can run offline in an already loaded page after the render worker module has been loaded; reopening the app offline is not supported. Source audio and history are session-only. Clear/pagehide stop playback, close its AudioContext, cancel workers and release output URLs and source references; this is not secure erasure of OS memory.

Recovery and compatibility

Cancel terminates the render worker or stops fallback work between sample batches; native decode cannot be interrupted but its late result is discarded. Missing Worker support uses a local yielding fallback. Playback needs AudioContext; import needs OfflineAudioContext/decodeAudioData. Other loaded clips survive an unsupported input. Confirm a download was saved before clearing. Mobile hardware, Firefox/Edge/Safari, real listening quality and maximum-memory behavior need separate checks. No microphone capture is included in this core MVP.
